Equipment

  • Bamboo Steamer Set - This set helps cook and steam ingredients for Vietnamese-style meals like pork chops or vegetables which can be used as accompaniments to a Banh Mi sandwich.

  • Amazon Basics Kitchen Knife Block - A multi-purpose knife block that comes with different blades, useful for slicing and dicing ingredients in the recipe.

  • Kitchen Shears - These are handy for cutting poultry or herbs when preparing a Banh Mi sandwich.

  • Mandoline Slicer (e.g., Cuisinart Mini Food Pro) - A slicer with adjustable blades, perfect for creating thinly sliced garnishes like pickled vegetables and cucumber that are used in Banh Mis.

  • Digital Instant-Read Thermometer - Accurate temperature measurement of meats like chicken to ensure it's cooked properly without overcooking, which is important for a well-made sandwich.

  • Mesh Food Storage Containers (e.g., Pyrex Glass Quart Container Set) - These containers can help store and organize ingredients and prepped components like pickled vegetables or sauces used in the recipe.

  • Handheld Electric Mixer (e.g., KitchenAid Stand Mixer) - Useful for mixing marinades, mayonnaise-based spreads, or creating a smooth texture for chicken patties.

  • Spice Grinder (e.g., Himalayan Sea Salt and Black Pepper Spice & Grain Mill Set) - A spice grinder can be used to prepare freshly ground peppers that are essential in the Banh Mi dressing or spread.

  • Silicone Basting Brush - Useful for applying mayonnaise, pickled vegetables, or chili sauce on the sandwich ingredients evenly and efficiently.

  • High-Speed Blender (e.g., Vitamix 5200) - A powerful blender that can help in making smooth dressings, dipping sauces, or puréeing fruits for additional toppings on your Banh Mi sandwich.
